Comeback Kid

Hardcorepunk aus Winnipeg (Kanada)

In 2002, what started as a side project from Andrew Neufeld and Jeremy Hiebert’s band Figure Four, became what AMP magazine called a “a wildly successful scene institution.” Three critically acclaimed albums later and after tirelessly touring the UK, Europe, Canada, USA, South America, Japan, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, S.E. Asia, etc.with bands such as Rise Against, Sick Of It All, Madball, Bad Religion, Dropkick Murphys, Gorilla Biscuits, Terror, and Bane, Comeback Kid have become one of the most recognizable names in hardcore today.

In 2003 Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Comeback Kid put together a self-released six song demo and signed with California hardcore label Facedown Records, who released Comeback Kid's debut album, Turn It Around, that spring. For their 2005 album Wake the Dead, they signed with Victory Records internationally, and Smallman Records in Canada. The band took full advantage of the opportunities presented touring worldwide to all corners of the earth, though in 2006, lead singer Scott Wade left the band to pursue other interests and guitarist Andrew Neufeld took over lead vocals. The current tour line-up features Andrew Neufeld (vocals), Jeremy Hiebert (guitar), Kyle Profeta (drums), Matthew Keil (bass), and Casey Hjelmberg (guitar).

On February 20, 2007, Comeback Kid released Broadcasting… (Victory / Smallman), their most diverse album yet. Recording again with Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, All, Descendents) at The Blasting Room, the album encompassed both heavier and more melodic elements. Broadcasting… was a superbly crafted, hard-hitting tour de force. Described by vocalist Andrew Neufeld, “This is the darkest record we have ever written. We were going for a more epic, full sounding album. It has the classic CBK elements but everything is turned up a notch.” October, 2008 saw the release of Through The Noise. A live dvd / documentary following the band's travels and recordings, on and off stage from their first show to the time of the release.

Late summer 2010 will bring the release of CBK's 4th studio record entitled Symptoms + Cures through Victory Records / Distort Ent. Working this time in Toronto, Canada with producers Eric Ratz and Kenny Luong (Billy Talent, Cancer Bats, etc.). Neufeld explains, “We wanted to up the ante with this one. It's been a few years and we all have new ideas, influences, and experiences we want to share. We want to take our brand of hardcore/punk and give a new twist to the genre. We wrote the kind of songs that will translate to an intense live experience."

Comeback Kid delivers one of the most memorable and awe-inspiring events that you will ever encounter as a fan of hardcore and live music. For the better part of this decade they have taken their incredible anthems across the planet and spread their message to hundreds of thousands of fans.
